Lesson81：「あいさつの台本①　通常のあいさつ」

- Key Sentence -
・Hey, how's it going, Jack? - Not too bad.
・Hi. How are you? - Fine, thanks.
・Hi. How are things? - Can't complain.（まぁまぁ）
・Hey, what's up? - Nothing much.

＊「会話の台本」を知れば、なめらかな・途切れない会話フローを実現
＊「声がけ → ご機嫌伺い」の台本をキッチリ守っていますね
＊「hey」= 相手の注目をつかむ呼びかけ
＊「how's it going?」= 「it（状況）がどう going（進んでいる）のか → 調子はどう?」
＊「How are things?」= thingsは「物事」．漠然と身の回りの様子を尋ねています．

2） （How are things?）かなりいいよ、ありがとう｡あなたは?

Lesson82：「あいさつの台本②　久しぶりに出会った場合」

- Key Sentence -
・Hello. How have you been? - Pretty good, thanks.
・Hi, Karen. It's been a while. - Yes, too long.
・Hey, it's good to see you again. - Good to see you too.
・Hey. Long time no see. What's new? - Oh, same old, same old.（相変わらず）

＊「How have you been?」= 今に至るまでどうでしたか？
＊「返事のtoo」= 会いたかったのに「会わない期間が長すぎて残念」というニュアンス
＊「good to see」= 久しぶりではなく、再び出会えた喜びを表現
＊「What's new?」= 何か変わったことはありましたか = 元気でしたか．

Lesson83：「挨拶の台本③　相手の印象を述べる」

- Key Sentence -
・Good morning. What's wrong, Dad? - Oh, nothing serious.
・Hi. Are you okay? - Yeah, I'm just fine.
・Hey, you look a bit down. - No, don't worry. I'm good.
・Hi. I like your jacket. - Thanks. My wife chose it.

＊　声かけのあとすぐに「相手の印象を述べ」気遣いを示す．
＊「What's wrong?」= いつもと違った様子の理由を尋ねる．
＊「Are you okay?」= 不調そうな相手を気遣う表現．
＊「look～」= 具体的な印象．

Lesson84：「挨拶の台本④　最近の活動を問う」

- Key Sentence -
・Hi, Miranda. How are you? How did your presentation go?
・Hi. How's it going? How is your project coming along?
・Hey, Liz. What's up? Did you enjoy the concert?
・Hi. How are things? Is it true you got engaged?

＊ 声掛けからご機嫌伺いを続け、相手への質問まで一気にフロー
＊「go」= どのように進んだか？　→　どうだった？
＊「come along」= imagine a kind of path and you're progressing along that path towards the end goal．

＊「否定の前倒し」という英語の癖．" think, believe, imagine, suppose " など､思考系の動詞に見られる癖．
＊ 何かを差し挟む､それがこの台本

＊ 通常の初対面で使われる「お目にかかれる嬉しいです」だけでは感情の高まりとのバランスが取れません

Lesson88：「話題の転換：つなぎ言葉」
- Key Sentence -
・Having said that, she is one of the most popular teachers at our school now.
・I'm not sure if my presentation was effective, but anyway, I did my best.
・In any case, the meeting will take place as planned.
・By the way, I should mention that we have excellent after-sales service.
・Talking of managing stress, let's have a short coffee break!
＊ プレゼンでは「つなぎ言葉」がとても大切．自分の発言だけが延々と続く場合、次の発言がそれまでの発言と「どういった関係」にあるのかを示す機会が激増するから．
＊「having said that」= それでもやはり．自分のそれまでの発言を「清算して」本筋を述べる．
＊「anyway，in any case」= 自分のそれまでの発言を「清算して」本筋を述べる．
＊「by the way」= by（近く）の way（道）に入る。本筋から離れて「脇道」に移動．
＊「speaking of, talking of 」= 本筋の話題を起点として「別の話題に転換」．

＊ 人前で話をする際、特に専門性の高いプレゼンテーションなどでは，しばしば「情報の出所を明確」にして自分の意見とほかの人の意見を切り分けることが大切．
＊「according to」= その後ろには確たる情報源が使われ，内容の信頼性を増す．

A）Well, first, I'll define what I mean by "success" and then give some examples.
