Yuta）How is the customer database coming along, Kate?
Kate）I'll be done in about another...15 minutes.
Yuta）Great. But after that, invitation cards and labels for the envelopes need to be printed out by the end of today.
Kate）Are you saying that I have to do all that too?
Yuta）No, of course not. I'll help you.
Kate）That's good, because there is no way I could get all this done by the deadline.

＊lose heart = 心がくじける、がっかりする

- Check your grammar -
① How is ... coming along?「進捗状況をきく」
　How is the customer database coming along?
　How is your homework coming along?
② There is no way + 節・get X done「可能性が無い」
　There is no way I could get all this done by the deadline.
　私がそれをすべて期限までに出来るはずがありません。

＊" addition " = 新人

- Build up your vocabulary -

Are you saying that I have to do all that too?
それもすべて、私がしなければならないと、言っているのですか？

＊相手の言葉を自分の言葉に置き換えて + 確認してもらう。
＊ " explain " = 他動型。
＊ " what do you mean " = 深いことは聞いてない。
＊ " How do you mean? " = どういった思考プロセスによりそうなったのか。

（例文）
・So you're saying that you can't help me out.
　ということは、あなたは僕を助けてくれないと言っているのですね。。

・So what you really think is that I would be a fool to take him back, right?
　ということは、あなたは本心では、私が彼とよりを戻すのはおろかだろ思っているのですね。
・If I understand you correctly, you mean they can't be trusted.
　私の理解が正しいなら、彼らは信用ならないと仰っているんですね。

- Express yourself in English -
1) それではあなたは、チカコとジュンコが理想的なチームリーダーになるだろうと言っているのですね。
2) ということは、君は本心では、私のプレゼントはひどかったと思っているのですね。
3) 私の理解が正しいなら、あなたは申し込みを取りやめるということですね。

1) So you're saying that Chikako and Junko would make ideal team leaders.
2) So what you really think is that my presentation was awful.
3) If I understand you correctly, you are withdrawing your application.
（解説）
1) " make ideal team leaders. " = 彼らの持つ資質が、リーダーになる
3) " withdraw " = 引っ込める、撤回する
