Lesson44「移動の方向性：come, go」

A) Roxy! Dinner’s ready!
B) OK, I’m coming. I’m in the middle of a text message.
A) You shouldn’t type and walk at the same time.
B) I know. Anyway, what’s for dinner?
A) Seafood paella.
B) Again? Dad, can’t you learn some other recipes from your cookbook?
A) The other recipes are kind of difficult.
B) I’m not complaining. It’s always delicious, but don’t you get tired of making the same thing?
A) I like to master something before I move on.

＊" in the middle of " = ~の最中で
＊" move on " = 何かを予めやっていて次の段階に進む

　それで、夕飯は何？

　同じものを作ってばかりで飽きないの？
③ Can’t you learn some other recipes from your cookbook?
　料理本から何か別の料理を覚えられないの？

＊" have to " より " will have to " の方が強い意志がある。

＊ここの " come " のイメージは「常にやってくる」。英語では話題になる場所に応じて " go, come " の選択をする。

・What time can you come to the party? – I’ll come around eight.
　何時ごろパーティーに行くことができますか？ーだいたい8時ごろ行きます。
・The rainy season is coming.
　梅雨になるよ。
・This laptop comes with a leather case.
　このラップトップは革のケースつきです。
