Emily）Sam, can I ask you something?
Sam）Sure, Emily. What's up?
Emily）Who were you talking to on the phone a few minutes ago?
Sam）Oh, that was someone from work.
Emily）It's kind of late, isn't it? 10 o'clock at night?
Sam）She's working overtime.
Emily）Oh, so it was a woman. But I've never known you to work so late.
Sam）You don't have to be jealous, Emily. You are the only girl I've ever loved.
Emily）Really?

＊someone from work = わざとぼやかして，誰かさとられたくない
＊Cheers! = 乾杯

① wh 疑問文「空所を作る」

＊" the " は「常に１つに決まる」を表す限定詞。「唯一の・最初の」なら「1つに決まる」はずだ。そこで the が使われる。一つに決まる訳ではないなら、only にもつかない
＊" a world " = 一つに決まらない、創造の産物。
＊一つに決まるほど権威のある " the " は王冠。新聞社などに使われている。
＊「ジ」と発音する時は、強い強調。
