・関係代名詞 " who , which , that " と関係副詞 "where , when , why " といった節による修飾。
・修飾の本質が、空所にあることを理解する。

Lesson187：「関係代名詞 whse　所有格を結ぶ」

A) Miles, what happened to our fence?
B) The man who lives next door drove his car into it.
A) So he’s going to pay for it, right?
B) No, he says he didn’t do it, but I saw him do it. He’s clearly lying. I think we need a lawyer.
A) I have a friend whose father is a good lawyer.
B) Do you think he can help us out?
A) I can talk to my friend and ask for her father’s help.
B) That would be great. We’ve never been in a situation like this before.
A) I’m sure everything will be fine.

A) マイルズ、うちのフェンスに何が起こったの？
B) 隣の住人が車でそこに突っ込んだんだ。
A) だったら、彼がその弁償をするのよね？
B) いや、彼は自分がやったんじゃないと主張しているんだ。でも、僕は彼がそうするを見たよ。彼は明らかにうそをついている。弁護士が必要だろうね。
A) 私には、お父さんが有能な弁護士だという友達がいるわ。
B) 彼が僕たちを助けることができると思うかい？
A) 私が友達に話をして、お父さんの協力を求めることができるわ。
B) それはとてもいいね。これまで僕たちはこんな立場に立ったことはないからね。

- Real grammar for communication -
I have a friend whose father is a good lawyer.
私には、お父さんが有能な弁護士だという友達がいるわ。

＊whose は、「誰の・誰の物」を意味する wh語。" a friend whose father " = " a friend ＋ his father" 。まず、" I have a frisnd " と言い切って whose で説明する。

私がその自転車を壊してしまった少年に謝罪した。
