B) ありがとう、ゲイル！これは役に立つわ。
A) あのぼっちゃりしたほっぺ！目はお父さんゆずりね！
B) 抱っこしてみますか？
A) いいの？赤毛とてもいいわねぇ！
B) 赤毛は家系なの。
A) とってもかわいい小さな子ね、僕ちゃんは。

A) I got a sippy cup for Conan.
B) Thanks, Gail! This will come in handy.
A) Look at those chubby cheeks! (coo...) He’s got his father’s eyes!
B) Would you like to hold him?
A) Could I? I love his red hair!
B) Red hair runs in the family.
A) You are such a cute little fellow, aren’t you?

＊情報を伝える表現。run は「流れる」というニュアンス。" run in the family " の場合は、だれの家系かは、文脈で判断する。

ゲイルは赤ちゃんのコナンの目は父親ゆずりで、赤ちゃんの赤毛がとてもいいと言います。コナンの母は彼女に、うちは赤毛の家系だと言います。
