Dialog1「My Old English Teacher」
（状況）真美は夫と公園に来ている

A) あの白いセーターの長身の男性が見える？
B) 赤い野球帽をかぶっている人のこと？
A) うん。あれは、マガタ先生 , 私の昔の英語の先生！中学校で一番好きな先生だったの。
B) 行って挨拶をしておいでよ、マミ。
A) 私のこと覚えてらっしゃらないわ。
B) そうだとしても、とても喜ぶよ！

A) See that tall man in the white sweater?
B) You mean the guy wearing the red baseball cap?
A) Yup. That’s Mr. Magata, my old English teacher! He was my favorite teacher in middle school.
B) You should go over there and say hi, Mami.
A) I doubt he’ll remember me.
B) All the same, it’ll make his day!

＊注意を引く表現。文頭の " Do you " を略し、一緒にいる人へ「ほら！」という気持ちで使う。the で限定した " in the white sweater " は、" wearing the sweater " と言いかえれる。

（応用練習）
A) See that yellow building on the corner?
B) Yeah.
A) That’s where my office is.
B) Really?

- Say It -

That’s my old English teacher.

＊" English teacher " は English を高く言う。そうすると、「英語の先生」になる。両方を強めると「イングランドからの先生」という意味になる。

- Write It -
彼がとてもしてみましょう。マミは公園で昔の英語の先生を目にします。彼女の夫は、喜ぶから挨拶をしたらと勧めます。

Mami sees her old English teacher at a park. Her husband suggests she say hi because it’lI make his day

（解説）
・see = something that comes into your sight.

・Americans usually just say, suggest she say hi. But a lot of British people would say, suggest she should say hi.　　　　　Either way is fine.
