Dialog5 「Jack Takes a Sick Day」
（状況）ジャックは病欠するため同僚に電話する。

A) やあどうも、アリス。ハクション！
B) お大事に！どうしました？
A) 今日は出社しません。この風邪にやられてしまって。
B) それはお気の毒に。
A) あの～、僕の代わりに会議に出てメモを取ってもらえませんか？
B) いいですよ。内容は？
A) 会社のクリスマスパーティーだよ。僕は飲食物の担当なんだ。
B) 問題ありません。早いご回復を！

A) Hi, Alice. Achoo!
B) Bless you! What’s up?
A) I’m not coming into work today. I have this cold I can’t shake.
B) Sorry to hear that.
A) Listen, I was wondering if you could go to a meeting for me and take notes.
B) Okay. What’s it about?
A) The company Christmas party. I’m in charge of food and drinks.
B) No problem. Get well soon!

・What’s up? 　どうしました？
・come into work 　出社する、仕事に行く
・I have this cold I can’t shake. この風邪にやられてしまって。shake this coldは「この風邪を治す」
・Sorry to hear that. それはお気の毒に。（重篤の場合は I'm ~ で始める）
・I was wondering if you could -　〜してもらえませんか。
・go to a meeting for - 〜の代わりに会議に出る
・take notes 　メモを取る、内容を記録する
・What’s it about？　内容は？（議題・テーマなどについて）
・in charge of -　　〜担当で。
・Get well soon! 　早いご回復を！

私は今日は出社しません。

＊予定を伝える表現。現在進行形で予定を伝える。" come into work " は、「出社する、職場に戻る」という意味で、職場に視点を置いているため、" go " でなく " come " を使ってる。
