A) What time does the mountain bike race start?
B) It starts at 9 a.m., so staffers need to be in their designated positions by 8:30.
A) OK, I’ll try to be there a little early.
B) Good. We had some accidents resulting in injuries at last year’s race, so I need you ready to act. Please have the emergency medical kits open just in case.
A) I’m getting a little nervous now.
B) Relax. All you have to do is remember the basic treatments. If you get into trouble, contact me by phone, not email, as soon as possible.
A) OK. See you tomorrow

I need you ready to act.
あなたにはすぐ行動に移れるようにしておいてほしいのです。

＊この文は、目的語説明型。目的語の説明を、後続の説明語句が行う型。目的語 "you" を "ready to act" が説明し「you = ready to act」となっている。
