Lesson221：「文型①　他動型」

A) What were you doing yesterday morning?
B) Nothing special. Why?
A) I saw you with a pretty girl in a café near Central Park.
B) Wait, don’t misunderstand me. I can explain everything.
A) So…?
B) OK. The girl’s name is Lucy, and she is an old classmate from high school. I bumped into her in the park.
A) I wonder what made you two go into the café together. In your place, I wouldn’t have gone.
B) Well, she asked me if I had some free time.
A) And you spent a lot of time in there, didn’t you?
B) Well, we had a lot to catch up on.
A) Maybe I will see some old boyfriends, too.
B) Huh?

＊他動詞 =「動詞＋目的語」の形だどう。文型で最も大切なのは、対応する意味を知ること。他動型は「動詞による働きかけが目的語に及ぶ」を意味する形。この文もそうした気分で作られている。この型で使われる動詞は、そうした気分にぴったりと当てはまる。
