A) コーヒーをすぐにお持ちしますね。
B) ねえ、フラワーヴィルで何か面白いことをしたいのだけれど？
A) 歴史地区は行くと楽しいところですよ。
B) ありがとう。フラワーヴィルが出来たのはいつなの？
A) ちょっと調べてみますね。ジェイコブ、フラワーヴィルが出来たのはいつ？
C) 1877年
A) 誰かに頭がいいと言われたことない？
C) 母かな？
A) それ面白〜い！

A) I’ll be right back with your coffee.
B) Say, is there anything interesting to do in Flowerville?
A) The historic district is a fun place to go.
B) Thanks. When was Flowerville founded?
A) I’ll run a check on that. Jacob, when was Flowerville founded?
C) 1877.
A) Has anyone ever told you how smart you are?
C) My mother?
A) You crack me up!

・say 　あの、ねえ、そういえば
・historic district 　歴史地区・町並み保存地区
・a fun place to go 　行って楽しい、面白いところ
・when was – founded? 　〜はいつ出来ましたか。創立されましたか？
・run a check on -　〜について調べる
・Has anyone ever told you how – you are？　あなたが〜だと誰かに言われたことはありませんか？ (相手のある特質について尋ねる言い方)
・You crack me up! 　それ面白〜い！

- Apply It -
The historic district is a fun place to go.
歴史地区は行くと楽しいところです。

＊情報を伝える表現。" a fun place to go to " のような「place + to 不定詞＋前置詞」の形では、前置詞が省かれることがよくある。" a place to celebrate (at) " も同様。

B) Yes, the Nukazuke Museum is a fun place to go.
A) What’s in there?
B) There are 1,000 kinds of pickles.

- Say It -
I’ll run a check on that.

＊リンクして言い易くする。「run a → ランナ」「check on → チェッコン」。これが英語として普通の言い方。

- Write It -
ある客がエイミーにフラワーヴィルで何か面白いことをしたいのだけれど何かあるかと尋ねました。エイミーは歴史地区は行って楽しい所だと伝えました。

A customer asked Amy if there was anything interesting to do in Flowerville. Amy told him that the historic district is a fun place to go.
