～ラジオ英会話12月のテーマと目的～
・「倒置・疑問文」をマスターする
・倒置＝語順を変えること。主語―助動詞倒置をできるようにし、会話の肝である疑問文を作れるようにする。

Lesson172：「wh疑問文④ 大きな wh語」
（状況）素敵なヘッドフォンをしてるミライにテオが話しかける

 A) Those are nice headphones.
 B) Thanks. I bought them last week. The sound is great. I love the deep bass.
 A) What kind of music do you like?
 B) All kinds, but recently I’ve been listening to jazz.
 A) Really? You know, we’re having a jazz festival in our town next month. They have it every year. Jazz musicians from al over the world come to perform.
 B) Oh, where do they perform?
 A) They are playing in various places throughout the town. Here’s a flyer for it.
 B) Well, it looks like fun. I’ll definitely go.

 A) それはいいヘッドホンだね。
 B) ありがとう。先週買ったのよ。音は最高よ。私、深みのある低音が大好きなの。
 A) 君はどんなジャンルの音楽が好きなの？
 B) どのジャンルもだけど、最近はよくジャズを聞いているわ。
 A) 本当に？実は、この町で来月、ジャズフェスティバルがあるんだ。それは毎 B年開催されているんだけど。世界中のジャズミュージシャンが演奏しにやって来るんだよ。
 B) まあ、どこで演奏するの？
 A) 彼らは町のあちこちで演奏することになっているんだ。これがそのパンフレットだよ。
 B) まあ、楽しそうね。私はもちろん行くわ。

What kind of music do you like?
 君はどんな種類の音楽が好きなの？

＊" what kind of music " のような「大きな wh語」容易にも作れる。大きな wh語は自由に自作しても構わん。

（例文）

・What time do you want to come?
 何時に来たい？
・How much is this laptop?
 このラップトップいくら？
・Whose racket is this?
 これ誰のラケット？
・Who out of the six candidates should we choose?
 6人の候補者から誰を選ぶべきだろうか？

- Grammar In Action -
1) シェークスピアの作品の中でどれがいちばん好きですか？
2) 学校の劇であなたは何の役をするの？

（答え）
1) Which work of Shakespeare do you like the most?
2) What role do you have in the school play?

（解説）

2）" what role " と " which role " では、ニュアンスが違う。
・" what role " = 漠然とした言い方。具体的な役が浮かんでるわけではない。
・" which role " = いくつかの特定の役があり、その中から一つを選ぶ感じ。
