Dialog5「Small Talk about Snow」
（状況）女性と男性が近所のクリスマスパーティに来ている。

A) 雪が降り始めたわ！
B) 天気予報では猛吹雪がやって来るということですよ。
A) ええ、それは驚きだわ！
B) 週末はずっと雪になります。
A) 参ったわ、雪かきは苦手なので。
B) あなたもそうですか。
A) 前向きに考えれば、ホワイトクリスマスになりますよね！
B) はは！間違いなしですね。

A) It’s starting to snow!
B) The weather forecast says a heavy snowstorm is on its way.
A) Well, what do you know!
B) It’s going to snow throughout the weekend.
A) Gosh, shoveling snow is not my favorite thing to do.
B) Welcome to the club.
A) On the bright side, we’re going to have a white Christmas!
B) Ha! No doubt about it.

- Words &Expressions -

・It’s starting to do 　〜し始めました！
・The weather forecast says -　天気予報では…ということです。
・snowstorm　吹雪
・～ is on its way.　がこちらにやって来る。
・Well, what do you know! 　ええ、それは驚いた！
・throughout the weekend 　週末はっと、週末中
・Gosh. 　うわー、参った。
・~ ing is not my favorite thing to do. 　〜するのは苦手です
・Welcome to the club. 　あなたもそうですか。
・on the bright side 　前向きに考えれば
・(There’s) No doubt about it. 　それは間違いなしです。

- Apply It -

It’s going to snow throughout the weekend.
週末はずっと雪になります。

＊情報を伝える表現。" It's going to " と確信を持っている様だが、" The weather forecast says " という気持ちが前提にある。

（応用練習）
A) It’s starting to rain.
B) Uh-oh! We have our trip coming up.
A) What does the weather forecast say?
B) It’s going to rain throughout the week.

- Say It -

Well, what do you know!
ええ、それは驚いた！

＊ビックリして言ってみる。カジュアルな表現。" what do you know " を早く言って、「ワドゥユーノー」。" what " は強め、" do you " は弱め。

- Write It -
吹雪がやって来ます。雪かきが苦手なので、男性と女性は心配しています。前向きに考えれば、ホワイトクリスマスになります。

A snowstorm is on its way. The man and the woman are worried because shoveling snow is not their favorite thing to do. On the bright side, they’re going to have a white Christmas.

・人 be worried , モノ worry 人

It’s a conversation between Santa Claus and one of his reindeer.
サンタクロースと彼のトナカイの中の一頭との会話である。

Oh, it’s starting to snow, Rudolf.
The weather forecast says a heavy snowstorm is on its way,

It’s going to snow throughout the weekend.
Gosh, driving my sled in the snow is not my favorite thing to do.
Ha, ha, welcome to the club. I mean pulling the sleds in the snow is a really my cup of hot lemonade.
On the bright side, we’re going to have a white Christmas!
Ho! Ho! Ho! No doubt about it.
