Sergei）Hi, Mirei. So tonight is the big night. Your first date with Philip.
Mirei）That's right. I'm a bit nervous, to tell you the truth.
Sergei）Oh, come on. You already know he adores you.
Mirei）How can you say that?
Sergei）Haha! I've seen the way he looks at you.
Mirei）Oh, you're just teasing me.
Sergei）No. I'm serious. Anyway, make sure you tell me how everything went tomorrow.
Mirei）Mmm. Maybe I will, and maybe I won't. Ciao!

＊to tell you the truth. = 正直に言うと
＊vomit = 食べ物を吐く、嘔吐する

　彼がどんなふうに君を見ているのか、見たことがあります。

どんな状況だったのか明日必ず教えてくださいね。

＊この文では、これから起こる出来事について how everything went と過去形が使われている。明日に自分がいると考えれば、すべては終わってしまったあと。
「何があった」のかは過去形で表すことができる。
＊「歴史的現在」と呼ばれる現在形の使い方も同じ。過去について話していても、現在起こっているように感じて「臨場感のある現在形」を使用。

・I was quietly reading the paper in the cafe when suddenly this guy comes over and starts screaming at me.
　カフェで静かに新聞を読んでいたら、突然男が近づいてきて僕に向かって叫び出すんだよ。
