Lesson197「過去形のイメージ」

Theo）Hi, Mirai! I didn't expect to see you here today in this weather.
Mirai）Hi, Theo. Paul wanted to go outside even though it's raining.
Theo）Why don't we take shelter over there?
Mirai）Good idea.
Mirai）How's Sparky?
Theo）He's OK. Actually, I had to take him to the vet last week.
Mirai）What was the problem?
Theo）He couldn't stop vomiting, but he's much better now.
Mirai）Well, that's good. Oh, look. It's stopped raining.

＊take shelter = 雨宿りする、避難する
＊vomit = 食べ物を吐く、嘔吐する

- Check your grammar -
① even though「" ～だが " の強調」
　Paul wanted to go outside even though it's raining.
　雨が降っていてもポールは外に出たがっていました。
② must「ヒシヒシと今伝わるプレッシャー → 過去はない」
　Actually, I had to take him to the vet last week.
　実は先週、彼を獣医のところに連れていかなければなりませんでした。
