・ 副詞・可算，不可算名詞のイメージでつかむ。

Lesson173「可算名詞・不可算名詞のイメージ③　思いがけない不可算名詞」
Yuki）Hi, my name is Yuki. You're new, right?
Anna）Yes, I'm Anna. I started here last week. I'm from Finland.
Yuki）Oh, they speak English in Finland, too?
Anna）Yes, most people can.
Yuki）How do you come to school every day?
Anna）I come to school by bus.
Yuki）How long does it take?
Anna）It takes about an hour, but I listen to music on my phone.
Yuki）I do too. I love songs from animated movies.
Anna）So do I!

＊bowing = お辞儀
＊understatement = 控えめな表現

① about = 周り = 約， to = 矢印，on = 媒体

　1時間くらいかかるけど、自分のスマートフォンで音楽を聞いています。

＊可算：具体的で決まった形があるなら
＊不可算：抽象的で形がないなら
＊可算・不可算の基準の一つ =「目には見えないもの，手に取れないもの」
＊" come/go to school " は、単に学校という建物に行くだけではなく「学校教育を受ける」ということ。school はそこでの教育全般が感じられるため不可算として使われている。
＊" by bus " は「バスという交通手段で」の意。具体的なバスではなく、抽象的な「手段」として理解されているため、不可算扱いになるのです。

＊" noises " = 具体的で形のある音
＊" noise " = 具体性がなく、いろんな音が混ざり合っている。
＊" emotion " = 感情一般
＊" emotions " = 喜怒哀楽など具体的な感情

・There are several excellent schools in this city.
　この都市にはいくつか素晴らしい学校がある
・Most London buses are still red.
　ロンドンのほとんどのバスは今でも赤い。

1) 公的な書類は、赤いペンで記入してはいけません。
2) 私は兄弟と普段は、メールでやり取りしている。
3) 女の子が学校に行くことが、ほとんど不可能であるような国がまだ存在する。

（解説）
 1) " in red pen " = 赤いペンを使うという手法で
 2) " correspond " = （定期的に）通信する・文通する
