・形容詞をイメージでつかむ。

Lesson159「「これから指向」の形容詞」
Mom）Keita, are you still in bed?
Keita）It’s Sunday. Just let me sleep a bit more.
Mom）We’re going to the science museum, remember? I’ve got tickets for the special exhibition.
Keita）But I don’t want to go. It’s not cool to hang out with your parents.
Mom）That’s too bad. I’ve also got toy store coupons, so I was planning to get you some new video games.
Keita）Why didn’t you say that in the first place? OK, I’m ready to go!

＊bowing = お辞儀
＊over time = そのうちに

① let を使った目的語説明型
　Just let me sleep a bit more.
　もうちょっと眠らせてよ。
② 一般の人々を表す you
　It’s not cool to hang out with your parents.
　親と一緒に外をぶらつくなんてダサイよ。

＊" ready " は「準備ができた」。「→」をイメージとする to 不定詞とナチュラルに・強力につながる。
＊" eager " は「うずうずして我慢できない」。
＊ " careful " は「気を付ける」。
＊ " happy " は「嬉しい」。これから形容詞ではない。様々な形を取れる。

（例文）
・The students are all eager to hear their exam results.
　学生たちはみんな試験の結果を知りたがっています。
・Be careful not to lose your ID.
　IDをなくさないように気をつけてくださいね。
・I’m happy to give you some samples.
　喜んでサンプルを差し上げますよ。
・I’m happy to have graduated.
　卒業できて嬉しい。
・I’m happy spending time with my grandchildren.
　孫たちと過ごすことができて嬉しいよ。

（解説）
1) " scatterbrained " = " absent-mineded " = 落ち着きがない

2) " have trouble ～ing " = ～するのが難しい, " tell ... apart " = ～を見分ける
