Lesson103「感覚を表すそのほかの動詞：feel, smell, taste」

 A) Carol, what’s the matter? You look upset.
 B) There was another car accident in our neighborhood last night.
 A) Again? That’s the third one this week.
 B) The driver got arrested for drunk driving.
 A) Another drunk driver? What is going on these days? I feel we need to do something about this problem.
 B) I couldn’t agree more.
 A) By the way, was anybody hurt?
 B) No. Luckily, no one was injured.

＊" Any luck? " = うまくいきましたか？
＊" a fortune " = 大金

① What’s the matter?
　どうかしたの？
② What is going on these days?　
　この頃一体どうなっているんだろう。

I feel we need to do something about this problem.
この問題について何かをする必要があると思うよ。

＊ " feel " は「感じる」。「触覚や心の感じる」を表す。
＊ " smell " は「匂いがする」。嗅覚。
＊ " taste " は「味がする」。味覚。
＊ " feel, smell, taste " は、進行形は使えない。

 （例文）
・This is a non-smoking restaurant, but I can smell smoke.
　ここは禁煙のレストランなのに、タバコのにおいがするなぁ。
・Can you taste anything strange in this stew?
　このシチュー何か変な味がしない？
・Feel this cashmere sweater. It’s so soft.
　このカシミアセーター触ってごらん。すごくやわらかいよ。
・Smell the milk first to see if it’s still OK to drink.
　そのミルクまだ飲めるかどうか、まずにおいをかいで確かめてね。
・Taste the sauce for salt.
　塩加減がいいかどうか、ソースを味見してみて。

1) 聴衆の興奮が高まっているのを感じた。
