B) We’d better run.
A) There’s no way we’re going to make it!
B) We have a fighting chance!
A) I can’t run fast in these heels.
B) You can do it! We’re in the homestretch!
A) I can’t take another step.
B) Keep going! It’ll be smooth sailing once we get on board.

＊見込みの表現。" We have a chance " のバリエーションで、" a fighting chance " は「闘えば、頑張れば」という意味合いがある。

＊機能語の " We're in the " は弱めて「ウィアリンザ」、" homestretch " は強める。

ある男性と女性が接続便をつかまえようと走っています。男性は頑張ればまだ見込みはあると言います。さあ最後の追い込みです。間に合うでしょうか？それは誰にもわかりません。

（解説）

・" their connecting flight " = 日本人はよく " their " の部分を言わないため、だれが乗る飛行機便かが分からない。
・" now " = さあ……です
・That’s anybody’s guess. = It’s anybody’s guess.
