Dialog1「The new neighbors ignored me?」

A) I waved at the new neighbors yesterday, but they didn’t wave back.
B) Maybe they didn’t see you.
C) Why don’t we walk over there and introduce ourselves?
A) I’m up for that.
C) Betsy, what do you think?
B) Yes, by all means.
A) Can I bring Elvis?
C) Elvis, what do you say?
A) That means yes!

・consideration 　気配り
・cooperation　協力
・ignore 　無視する
・wave at 人　〜に手を振る
・wave back 　手を振り返す
・introduce oneself 　挨拶する、自己紹介する
・be up for -　〜がいいと思う。～に乗り気である。～に参加したい。
・What do you think? 　どう思いますか？
・by all means 　ぜひとも「改まった言い方」
・What do you say? 　（提案に関して）どう、いかがですか？

＊意見を求める表現。「あなたのお考えは何？」という気持ちで What でスタートする。" How do you think ? " は「どのようにものを考えるのか」と相手の思考法に迫る質問になる。

B) Sounds good. It’s nice there in summer.

- Say It -
By all means..
＊機能語である前置詞 " by " は弱めて、内容語の名詞 " means " を強める。" all " を伸ばし気味にすると「気持ち」が乗る。

- Write It -
ジャックは新しい隣人たちに挨拶に行こうと提案します。ベッツィーもサムも乗り気です。飼い犬のエルビスも同様です。
