Dialog8 「Betsy Stays Home」
（状況）ベッツィーががキッチンでランチを取っている

A) 電話が鳴っているよ。
B) 私が出るわ！もしもし？あら、こんにちはわ —。今日は家族全員が病気なの。サムはよくなってる—。ジャックはかわいそうに声が出なくて—。そうしてくれたらうれしいわ。じゃあね。愛してるわ！
A) 誰だったの？
B) 私のママよ。チキンスープを持ってきてくれるって。
C) おばあちゃんは来ちゃだめだよ。僕たちはまだ人に移しやすい状態だから！
B) 心配しないで、サム。ただスープを置いていくだけだから。
C) おばあちゃんのチキンスープ、大好きだ！

A) The phone is ringing.
B) I’ll get it! Hello? Oh, hi… We’re all sick today. Sam is better… Poor Jack has lost his voice… That’d be great! Bye. Love you!
A) Who was that?
B) My mom. She’s bringing over some chicken soup.
C) Grandma shouldn’t come over. We’re still contagious!
B) Don’t worry, Sam. She’s just dropping off the soup.
C) I love Grandma’s chicken soup!

・I’ll get it！　私が出ます！ (電話、ドア)
・That’s be great! 　そうしてくれたらうれしいです！
・Bye.　じゃあね,では。
・Love you!　愛してるわ！ (I love youのカジュアルな言い方)
・barely audible 　かろうじて聞こえる
・Who was that? 　誰だったの？
・bring over ~, 　〜を家へ持ってくる (overは over to my place)
・chicken soup チキンスープ
・be contagious 人に移しやすい状態である病気だけでなく、
・( Yawning / Laughter ) is contagious. 　あくび・笑い
・drop off – ,　〜を置いていく　配達するだけですぐ帰る

＊状況を伝える表現。" contagious " は、主語が病気なら「移る可能性がある」、主語が人なら「移す可能性がある」となる
